Sushi Friday

Almost every Friday Eve and I go out for sushi, and last night was no exception. We came home with a little fishy treat for Tulip again. Someone's a spoiled girl!

Mama Tu

In honor of Mother's Day, here is a picture of Tulip Kitty with her collection of "babies". While I was studying this morning, I happened to look down and see her in bed with the majority of her stuffed toys. Cute!

Kitty ornament

For my birthday I received a Pawprints Pet Ornament from my friend Steve. We finally got around to making this ornament. Tulip was a pretty unwilling participant. Over the weekend I got the no-bake dough ready. Eve grabbed kitty and held onto her so I could stick her little paws into the dough. The first attempt startled her. I don't think she liked the way the dough felt on her paws. Maybe she just didn't expect it. In any case, I didn't press hard enough so we had to give it another try. The second attempt looked pretty good. Tulip tolerated it fairly well, but she was quite happy to be done with her part of the project. Here's the final result. We thought it was pretty cute. Now Tu is all ready for Christmas. Thanks, Steve!

That's a lotta duckies!

We don't have a lot of guest appearances on Tulip's Garden. However, I thought this was so cool that I had to share. My friend Caprice scored some serious good karma points the other day. On her way home she saw a mother duck that had been hit and killed on the road. She spotted 10 ducklings running around nearby, so she stopped and gathered them all up. They spent the night at her house, then went to a local wildlife rescue the next day.

They're darn cute! I'm pretty sure Miss Tulip would approve of their coloration.

OOOO!

Last night I fell asleep on the couch watching TV. When I woke up in the middle of the night, this was the scene under the coffee table. It's looking a little crowded in there these days, kitty!

Phew!

Chasing around one of those plastic milk jug thingies really takes it out of a Tu.

That's Doctor Tu to you

I came home from my vacation with the flu. Yesterday morning I couldn't even drag myself off the bed. Miss kitty curled up in the blankets to watch over me. She nestled up against me all morning while I faded in and out of sleep. In the afternoon I mustered enough strength to make it to the couch, just for a change of scenery. Tulip followed along. Once I got myself settled in a heap of blankets, she curled up against my stomach. Even when Eve went into the kitchen, kitty stayed by my side. At one point she left, but came right back to take care of me. She even let me pet her.

In the past, whenever I was sick Dee used to take care of me. He'd always lay on me until I felt better. I've missed that ever since he's been gone. I'm so happy that Tulip has decided to take over his practice. What a sweetheart.

Meditation time

I guess we got kitty out of bed a little bit too early this morning. After breakfast, she was ready to go back to sleep. Poor Tulip! Here she is resting on her meditation pillow. Or maybe she's communicating with a higher plane. Don't underestimate her super powers.

Office update

Things are coming along with our office. We got the furniture in there last night. Of course everything is different now, so Tulip is bumping her head on and tripping over everything in the room. She wasn't sure she liked the new arrangement at first:



But after a while she decided it might be OK to try out my new chair:

She even has her own chair now, right between our two desks. Someone's a spoiled kitty! Next thing you know, she'll have her own computer so she can blog...

Eve took these two pictures of Tulip a few days ago. I thought they were the cutest ones ever. She seems to like to pose for the camera. Maybe she can be a model. Get to work, kitty!

Busy, busy

We're still working on cleaning up and reorganizing our office. Kitty is quite interested in helping out with this project. Here's Tulip helping Evie sort some receipts.

I found something new!

Not that every other cat isn't, but Tulip is extremely curious. Even with no eyes, she finds her way into everything. We had this collapsible bag sitting in the living room, and kitty though it would be fun to get in it. That is, until it ate her!

Caught in the act

Last weekend Eve and I were in the office talking. Tulip Kitty was bored because it was raining, and she couldn't go out on the deck. Instead, she jumped up on the bed and started attacking Violet. I told you she's a bully! We have evidence!

Naptime

Last Sunday it was reallly warm. When the afternoon sun came in through our bedroom windows, I couldn't resist having a nap. I knew kitty would love laying in the sun too, so I grabbed her and put her on the bed. She curled up next to me with the sun shining on her face. When I went to sleep, Tulip's face was right next to mine:




When I woke up, I had little kitty feet in my face instead:

Do not want!

Last night, Eve decided it was time to clip kitty's toenails again. It gets a little old listening to her clip-clop around on the hardwood floors. It sounds like she's wearing heels.

I decided that instead of pinning Tulip down like a rattlesnake, it would be good to give her the opportunity to behave nicely. I sat her down on my lap with her 4 feet sticking straight out so Eve could clip her nails. Much to my delight, she sat still like a perfect angel. Eve clipped the back nails first, then went for the front paws. When it got down to the last paw, kitty was a little impatient. I told her to sit still like a good girl. Her response was to tuck her head into the crook of my arm, as if she just couldn't bear it another second. She sat that way while Eve finished up the last paw. After she was done, Tulip continued to sit there in the same position. I decided to hold her and wait to see what she would do. She eventually realized she was done and got down off my lap. It took long enough for us to get a few adorable pictures though.

Lounging

On Sunday I spent most of the day doing homework. Tulip kitty was bored, so she spent most of the day sleeping. Later that night I was sitting on the couch watching TV. I happened to look up and saw this. I love her little feet hanging out. Stripy!

Here's Tulip going wild on her treehouse. Nice pose! While she's up there she gets herself all whipped up and starts thrashing her tail around. When she hits herself with it, I swear she thinks there's another cat up there with her. She goes absolutely crazy. One of these days I'll get around to editing some video of her up there showing off.
